The Edinburgh International Festival The Edinburgh International Festival celebrates its 60th year as the world's leading festival of the performing arts. With the diversity of its programme, and numerous groundbreaking performances, it is truly a star on the festival map! Check out the full programme here but music highlights include Leonard Bernstein’s operetta CANDIDE conducted by Robert Spano and the world premiere of Richard Strauss’ CAPRICCIO conducted by Markus Stanz. The dance programme hosts the UK premier of ON DANFE by choreographers Jose Montalvo and Dominique Hervieu, three productions by the Trisha Brown Dance Company and, of course, some exciting programming from Scottish Ballet. Bravura performances can be expected from Alfred Brendel, Evelyn Glennie, Jordi Savall, Yuri Bashmet and John Williams – to name but a few! As you know our photographers have been covering the Edinburgh Festival for more years than we can recall and will be doing so again this year.
