PUNK ROCK – THIRTY YEARS ON AND STILL GOING STRONG!

Punk rock – the alternative rock movement! It may have established itself as the anti-establishment rock music genre during the late ‘70s with groups such as the Ramones, Sex Pistols and The Clash but, thirty years on, its still going strong.

Iggy Pop defined punk as ‘a term that’s based on contempt’. Some people think it’s a slow burning wick for lighting fireworks! Punk means different things to different people and every generation has its new punk! Check out our special web gallery of images and see which punk is yours!
